No hike today; it was way too cold, ~37 on the trail so it was a no-go. We just don’t have appropriate clothes for that. Instead we got flu shots! The flu hasn’t hit California yet so the inoculation was just in the nick of time.
Instead, I walked to the movies (~6 miles roundtrip) to see Les Miserables. It was magnificent. I’ve seen the show in London and here in Los Angeles, I’ve read the book, but the movie was an experience on another level. A real tear-jerker, too – Anne Hathaway had me in tears her entire performance. I might see it again. This fantastic movie almost makes up for my regret not seeing Ricky Martin in the role of Marius on Broadway.
I saw Les Mis in London as well! Haven’t seen the current film version yet but it is on my to do list.
