NYX Butter Lipsticks

I was recently feeling sorry for myself a little blue, so I popped over to Target to browse the clearance aisle in the beauty department (as you do).

NYX Butter Lipsticks were on sale for $2.54! I hadn’t yet tried any, so I scooped up one of each available color.

I got these three:

Razzle Fiesta – this seems to me to a true cool pink, almost a hot pink.
Sweet Tart – a warmer pink, bordering on coral.
Moonlit Night – this is a deep plum color.

When I was in high school, a friend of mine worked at the local CVS. Her job in the beauty department was to check each and every lipstick to see it it had been swatched. If it was, she’d chuck it in a bin and it would get shipped back to the company. But, no danger of that with NYX – taking the plastic wrap off the lippies was nearly nail-breaking, so you know your lipsticks won’t be contaminated.

I know I’m totally late to the butter lipstick trend, but these from NYX are quite nice. They’re sheer, soft, and easy enough to put on without a mirror. My favorite is Moonlit Night, but I suspect Sweet Tart will be the one I wear most often because it’s fairly neutral. Razzle Fiesta is beautiful, but not great with my yellowish skin. Not that I care…I’ll wear it anyway.

No complaints from me on these lippies, and they certainly did cheer me up! I’ve never tried anything from NYX before, but I’ll be stalking the Target endcap for more markdowns, especially for the butter lipsticks.
