Cover Girl Outlast Stay Brilliant nail polish from the Star Wars collection in Red Revenge

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a great weekend.

A couple of weeks ago, I reviewed another nail polish from the Star Wars Cover Girl collection in Mutant, and I’m back with another one!

This is Red Revenge. It’s a cherry-red shade with incredible shine. The Cover Girl Outlast formula is smooth and easy to apply.

I only needed two coats for full opacity. The Cover Girl formula dries quickly and I only see a bit of tip wear before my nails grow out so much that I have to remove it. I love this Outlast line! Chipping has always been a frustrating problem for me, but this polish really adheres to my nails. I’ve already cruised the Cover Girl section at Target to look for more Outlast polishes.

So pretty! Thank you Cover Girl for sending this over for me to try, because I am really impressed with the longevity of the Outlast polishes!

What’s on your nails today?

Manicure Monday – Cover Girl Star Wars collection

A few weeks ago, I got this lovely bunch of goodies from Proctor&Gamble- the Star Wars collection from Cover Girl!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens collection from Cover Girl with Outlast Stay Brilliant nail polish in Mutant

So when I went to see Star Wars in the theater over Christmas, of course I had to use something from this collection…

This is three coats of Mutant – a bright blue cream. I used three coats to get as much vibrancy as I could, but two coats would have been fine, too. It goes on smoothly without any streaks or bubbling.

Between the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat and the Cover Girl Outlast formula, this stuff wears like iron.

I think I’m getting better at polishing my nails; after all, practice makes perfect. I just need to go slowly between each coat and allow plenty of time for drying.

Now, on to the movie! I think this is the continuation of the series that Star Wars fans have been waiting for (we’re just going to forget Episodes 1-3). I laughed, I cried, I made plans to see it again, and I forgave George Lucas for Jar Jar Binks.

Have you seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Did you love it?

My perfect nude lipstick

I love Queen Latifah. Love love love. I was an avid fan of Living Single, I have the Dana Owens Album on repeat, and I reminisce about her incredible performance at the Hollywood Bowl.

When I was in NYC a couple of weeks I saw Cover Girl’s Queen Collection at the Target in East Harlem.

Now, I don’t have darker skin tones, but I didn’t let that stop me from purchasing what is quite possibly the perfect nude lipstick.

The texture of Nude Attitude is smooth and lightweight. It’s got a bit of slip to it, so it feels as comfortable as a balm instead of a heavy lipstick. The color is a lightish brown with a bit of gold swirled in so it really complementsmy yellow-toned skin. It’s just so, so pretty…and like $7. $7!!

The Queen Collection from Cover Girl is marketed for women of color, I think even more items from this collection would flatter my pale, yellow-toned skin.

Sunday Social -Makeup Routine

I hope you all had a great weekend! Today’s Sunday Social is a topic after my own heart.

SocialSundayNew4

1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?
12 or 13 – I had cystic acne and piled on all kind of nasty foundation in a vain attempt to cover it. I used my mother’s CoverGirl Clean. I love the smell of CoverGirl, but it was the wrong color, I didn’t know how to apply it, and it looked a mess, probably worse than just the acne alone.

Remember these old bottles?

2. What are your top 3 favorite beauty products?
Foundation (Lumiere Minerals Cashmere, but the company has disappeared!)
Mascara (not too picky)
Lip Gloss (Avon Glazewear usually)

3. What is one makeup product you don’t leave home without?
Lucy Minerals finishing powderLucy Minerals Finishing Powder. It’s an HG product for sure.

4. What is your daily beauty routine?
Wake up, work out, shower, comb my hair, put on foundation, blush, eyeliner, mascara, finishing powder, and run for the bus.

5. What is your favorite hair/makeup product you’ve discovered in the last year?
Aussomely CleanI really like Aussie Aussomely Clean Conditioner to wash my hair.

Have a great week!
