Rest Week Run

I finished my third round of Body Beast last Saturday! This week, my workout partner and I swore blind we’d do no exercise and we’d actually rest. But I was having a tough week and was feeling restless, so a short run wouldn’t really be cheating, would it?

One of my favorite activities in Mexico City is running on the Reforma on Sunday mornings. But this time, I ran on the sidewalks. It was really fun, almost like an obstacle course! The sidewalks aren’t exactly even, so running on them was as much a mental challenge as a physical one.

Please note two things:

  1. 4.6 miles has somehow became a short run for me.
  2. To beat the blues, I reached for sneakers instead of Oreos.

Who am I, and what have I done with the old Wendy?
I kind of like the new me. I think I’ll keep me around.
