Pumpkin Pie Protein Shake

A few weeks ago, I bought two 3.3-pound tubs of Cinnamon Graham Cracker whey protein from Groupon, thinking they’d be perfect for pumpkin pie protein shakes. And I was right!

Here’s what I put in it:

  • 2 cups of spinach
  • 1 scoop of Optimum Nutrition Cinnamon Graham Cracker Gold Standard Whey Protein
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Truvia
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla pudding powder

I blended these all up in my NutriBullet. I love the NutriBullet – it pulverizes all these ingredients into a smooth drinkable shake.

PUMKIN PIE PROTEIN SHAKE

This time of year, I’m all about the pumpkin. Pumpkin ravioli, pumkin pie, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin. And this protein shake tasted like pumpkin pie! But without having to bake or brave the crowds at CostCo. And without a mack ton of calories and sugar too.
This protein shake makes Chest, Shoulders & Triceps workout (aka The Most Humbling of all P90X Workouts) totally worth doing at 5am.

Green Smoothie Challenge – Day 3

Did I say I would not need to replace my Magic Bullet, despite years of faithful service? How wrong I was – I had not yet been introduced to its powerful cousin, the NutriBullet.

green smoothie day 3

Today’s Green(ish) smoothie is a handful of broccoli, three carrots, about a half cup of frozen blueberries, a splash of lemon juice, and a few sprinkles of tumeric. Add some water and even the un-chopped broccoli is blended into liquid drinkability.

I’ve tried making smoothies with broccoli before – in the Magic Bullet, in a blender, finely chopped….but it was always lumpy and I’d had to chew my green smoothies, which rather defeated the purpose. Not with the NutriBullet! Everything is whizzed into an actual smoothie. Best infomercial purchase ever! (Well, just behind P90X. And Insanity. And the NuWave Oven.)
