Trip to Washington State

Last week we went to Washington State to visit 유씨’s family. It is such a pretty area. Even the plane ride is gorgeous – we could see Mt. Rainier and the Seattle shoreline as we landed in the airport.

Tacoma Narrows Bridge, Puget Sound, Washington StateHere we are on Puget Sound. It was 82 in Los Angeles when we left, so the cold weather felt wonderful to me. I had this nice scarf that 할머니 knitted so I kept pretty warm.

The Original StarbucksWe also spent a day in Seattle and visited the very first Starbucks! It’s across the street from Pike Place Market. There was a crazy long line but it moved quickly and of course I had to get a coffee from here.

We stopped by the University of Washington too. It’s a beautiful campus – lots of grassy lawns, brick buildings, and a Gothic library. Travel tip: Do not ask to see the Heisman Trophy case unless you want to be escorted off campus (and probably out of the state). #Pac12SmackTalk

Have you ever been to the Pacific Northwest?

  1. I’ve previously been to Seattle once, and am entertaining the idea of job hunting up there this year. I remember it being gorgeous and very different in terms of scenery than I’m used to. It has nothing on SoCal weather though, and that may be the only downside

    1. Good luck with the job hunt! I kind of like the cold and dreary weather, but maybe the novelty would wear off if I had to live there year-round.

  2. I actually have, but I was super young so I don’t remember much. I practically spit out my tea when you said “Travel tip: Do not ask to see the Heisman Trophy case” LOL !

Also, I didn’t even know the first starbucks was based out there… learned something new! Sounds like you had an amazing trip, glad you shared (:

  3. Isn’t it the BEST to visit!? I’ve been visiting for at least 10 years and then last year I we lived there for one year…it didn’t last!! LOL missed that California sunshine. My parents and sister still live up there so we get our fill of Pike’s and good coffee a few times a year!

  4. We loved Seattle – Big Greys Anatomy fan! Great start to our honeymoon such a laid back city, we went on ferry to Bainbridge it was like stepping back in time! I will never forget getting lost trying to find “hidden waterfall”

I'd love to hear from you
