A Definitive List Of Essential Workout Accessories

We all like to bring things with us when we work out, so here’s a list of items I deem essential for the modern fitness freak:

Drinks Bottle

Every single person that exercises needs to have a water bottle with them. It’s essential you’re drinking when you exercise to replace the fluids you lose when you sweat. If you’re a runner, then you’ll want a nice portable water bottle that’s easy to carry. There are bottles out there that let you easily fit your hand through and hold them while running. For any other workouts, the size of your water bottle might not matter to you. Instead, you just want something that works well and lasts for a long time. Always check your bottle is sealed properly, you don’t want it leaking inside your gym bag!

Sweat Towel

It’s always advised you carry and use a sweat towel when you’re working out. You need to have something with you to wipe away all your sweat. Not only is sweat annoying, but not wiping it off can have bad consequences. If you’re leaving sweat on your face, then you run the risk of developing acne and ruining your skin. Also, you need your towel to wipe down equipment after you’ve used it in the gym. No one likes going to use a machine only to find it drenched with sweat.

Trainers

You should always wear the appropriate footwear when working out. Certain footwear is great for certain exercises and workouts. Lots of people like to wear specific trainers when squatting or doing deadlifts. These trainers are designed to give your feet more of a feel for the ground – which helps you push through your legs more effectively. Likewise, there are brands like Asics that make trainers specifically for running. You can find lots of Asics runners online if you’re looking for a new pair of trainers. In general, running trainers can make great workout footwear, because they’re light and comfortable.

Smartphone

It seems so 2015, but bringing your phone with you is essential these days. I don’t mean you should bring it to play on while you’re working out; you should bring it because it has many uses. Your phone can act as a stopwatch for you as you workout, you can also search for workout videos on YouTube while at the gym. Also, there are lots of fitness apps you can download and use on your phone in the gym. Another great use is that it’s a great way for you to listen to music as you work out. Working out while listening to music can be a lot more motivating and lead to better performance! Smartphones are really becoming a massive tool for people in the fitness community.
