Last week I received my HauteLook order of Addition NV in the mail. I wore the Line Up Stay-put Gel Eyeliner in Scene (black with gold glitter) recently.
The eyeliner description from the Addiction NV website:
Uh oh, bad girls beware… You won’t be able to hide in a line up when you wear Line Up Stay-put Gel Eyeliner, (and why would you want to!) Because of our unique, stay-put, and STAND-OUT gel eyeliner formula, it will be way too easy to recognize your mesmerizing eyes in that crowd who still chooses to use not-so-lasting, totally smudgeable, pain-in-the-butt pencils. In 14 eye-popping shades, Line Up Stay-put Gel Eyeliner defines your eyes in an instant, and can be applied effortlessly with Addiction NV’s perfectly coiffed eyeliner brush, creating a smooth line every time.
Scene is a gorgeous color.
It’s a black eyeliner with gold sparkles to soften the shade. Here it is blurry so you can see the effect of the gold glitter:
It was a pretty color and application was very smooth and easy.
Unfortunately, this eyeliner did not “stay-put” on me. Yes, I have oily lids, but I wore primer underneath the liner. Even with the primer, the color faded away from my line and migrated to my creases. I’m not sure what went wrong – based on the description I was hoping for something fuss-free that would last until I washed it off, but by lunchtime it was a hot mess. I had to monitor my eye makeup throughout the day to wipe it away from where ever it ended up.
I’m pretty disappointed. In my experience, gel liners do tend to last longer on my oily lids, but this one just did not. I was embarrassed to see how much it smudged, but hopefully my co-workers thought that was the look I was going for!
