Happy Friday! Sorry for being absent this week and not responding to your comments – things have been a tiny bit hectic.
I got my Bulu Box earlier this week and here are the contents:
Half-sized Promax bar – I’ve had Promax bars before and I like them. Protein bars are kind of dense and I need a lot of water to wash them down, so the smaller size is very convenient.
Fruit O Organic Fruit Snack – I can’t see how a foil pouch of fruit is better than fruit itself, but I’m lucky enough to always have access to fresh fruit. I guess this is a good second-best? I don’t know.
Rally Capsules Hangover Prevention – My first reaction was “next!” but these capsules are really just multivitamins with a marketing angle.
Grandma’s Pure Lye Soap – I’m not quite sure what to do with this. I’ll probably just chop it up and put it in my handsoap dispenser.
Rainbow Light Advanced Enzyme System – I guess this is for people with sensitive stomachs. It has great reviews on Amazon.
White Shield Prevents Coffee Teeth – I love the idea of this, but there’s no ingredient list on the website so it’s a no-go.
I won a 3-month Bulu Box subscription for my Pumpkin Pie Protein Shake recipe. This was the last box and I don’t think I’ll renew. I won’t use most of the items I received. I love the idea of surprises in the mail, but I hate wasting stuff. I might like a subscription box with edible goodies, though. That would never be wasted.
What’s up for the weekend? Any snack box subscription services you recommend?
This post contains my Beachbody affiliate link. Thank you for supporting Blush and Barbells and good luck on your fitness journey.
I got a Bulu box too. I’m also suspicious of those coffee additives– I’m not pouring that in my gourmet coffee! I’ll stick to my whitening toothpaste instead.
Well, we do know that one of the ingredients in the coffee additive is shellfish since that had to be disclosed. Just weird.
I hardly subscribe to any monthly box. But it seems like a great box for health-concious people.
Monthly boxes are all the rage! I’m going to look for another one.
Sorry it was a downer box….
No big weekend plans here.
Enjoy!
Thanks! but since I didn’t pay for it, no harm, no foul.
What an interesting mix of products! The white shield sounds neat but with no ingredients listed it is a little scary! 🙂

Yes, like Rachel said, I’ll just stick to my Crest whitening toothpaste. Much safer that way!
Having just come back from a backpacking trip, I feel like the fruit pouch could be good to take on camping trips. Fresh fruit is sometimes too bulky, dense, or bruisable to carry along, but a fruit juice snack could be good for energy while hiking or even mixing with drinks (if let’s just say you brought some adult beverages with you)… would fit in well anywhere in a bag like in an outside pocket. The only question I’d have is if it needed refrigeration so that could be a problem.
I guess it would be good for a backpacking or hiking trip, but then you’d have to carry the packet back out with you. I do carry my banana peels out with me, but if it drops or something, I worry about littering.
I used to live on Promax bars in college. Totally-lots of water needed! The enzymes can be great to help digest food. I always read those herbal hangover remedies and I’m like, DOH I could totally have invented one of these (herbal acupuncture knowledge/training). Then I’m like…I don’t want to make alcoholic associated products! LOL…I’ll just buy them. 😉 I’ve always wondered what lye soap was. Cool package!
Hangover remedies just seem kind of opposite of what this box should be. Lye soap has lard in it, so definitely not veg-friendly!
I love protein bars… have you tried the new Quest bars? So delicious!!!
I have not tried them, but thanks for the recommendation! I saw that they’re on sale at GNC and I did wonder.
