Getting fit is a great decision to make. Working out can even start to become enjoyable (I swear!). Getting in shape isn’t just about the right technique. If you work out in the wrong clothing, you can end up causing yourself some damage!
Sports Bras
Women will know how critical a good sports bra is. I always make sure that I have a couple handy. You want to make sure that you have the best support possible, or you could cause yourself damage. If you’ve not been for a bra fitting recently, go and check that you’re shopping for the right size. If the sports bra you buy is too tight or too loose, it won’t help much either.
You can get sports bras for different activities. For example, a sports bra that you might need for yoga might not be supportive enough for an intense training session.
Sports bras don’t have to be ugly these days. There are plenty of sports bras that you can buy that look fabulous and offer fantastic support.
Footwear
Footwear is so important when you’re running or training. Causing injuries to your feet could have you on bed rest for weeks! It’s easy to find shoes that have special features for running or training. Running shoes will be designed slightly differently to training shoes. If you wear the right shoes for the task, your feet will be protected. You’ll also be much more comfortable!
I enjoy simply walking too to get exercise; I’ve been looking at women’s walking shoes reviews to see which is the right choice for me. Remember you need well fitting, good quality shoes! If your footwear is starting to get worn out, get new shoes! Don’t wait till they are falling apart, they won’t be offering you any support.
Grips And Gloves
I like to workout with weights and use various machines. It can be useful to get proper gloves or grips for your hands. Grips and gloves will help you avoid blisters and get a better grasp on anything you are using to train. I recommend them if you’re doing any weight training.
Shorts And Leggings
For various sports, you’ll need varying clothing on your legs. For sports that require a lot of movement, you may prefer loose fitting shorts or trousers. If you’re working in anywhere where your clothing could get caught, it’s best to choose something fitted. Leggings for working-out come in so many varieties now there’s an enormous choice! I find they’re much easier to wear for running.
Sweatbands
If you find you’re sweating a lot when you train, invest in some good sweatbands! They are so easy to find, and you can get them in colours to match the rest of your training outfits. Sweatbands are great for any high-intensity training, even sports like tennis.
Hopefully, these few tips will get you started on your new gym wardrobe. I would also make sure you avoid wearing any heavy jewellery when you’re hitting the gym. Jewellery will only end up getting in the way or lost!
I’ve cringed at the price of running shoes, but it makes a huge difference for me. What new gear do you need?
