Eyeliner is a must-have makeup item for me, so I always have a few ready to use. Here is what I have handy in my makeup drawer.
Avon:
Avon Glimmersticks – Smoky Diamond – It’s supposed to be grey, but it really does look blueish to me. I like the shimmer; otherwise it would be a bit Prison Tattoo Blue on me.
Avon Glimmersticks – Brown Glow. I usually use Cosmic Brown, but this was on sale. It’s a little bit more coppery than Cosmic Brown, and I really like it.
Avon Liqui-glide – Brown. This was a bit tricky to use, but once I got the hang of it, I loved it. It’s very matte and it does.not.budge. once applied.
Avon Glimmersticks are pretty much an HG product for me. I’ve been using them forever. They’re soft so they’re easy to apply without tugging, self-sharpening, and when they’re on sale you can get them for ~$4.
Urban Decay:
Urban Decay 24/7 – Lit. This is the only eyeliner I wear on my lower lash line; it’s not so dark so it does not close my eyes up. I think it’s actually supposed to be a shadow stick, but I like the effect of it on my lower lashes.
Urban Decay 24/7 – Rockstar. Nice matte plummy color. I do love a purple eyeliner.
Urban Decay 24/7 – Zero. This is the first black eyeliner I’ve tried. I always thought black was too harsh for me, but I really like the look.
I got all of these from Meg’s Makeup. UD’s 24/7 liners apply so smoothly and have a bold color, but they really do smudge a lot for me. I know that smudged liner is a “look”, but it’s not one I can pull off. I also don’t like having to sharpen my liners – I tend to forget to do it and I never seem to have a sharpener around when I need it.
Ulta:
Ulta Automatic Eyeliner – Moss (top) and Olive (bottom). I love these colors so very much. I pretty much like anything that’s dark/olive/forest green. These two colors both make my eyes seem green, so bonus points for that. The Ulta eyeliners are similar to Avon Glimmersticks – you twist them up and don’t have to worry about sharpening. The formula is pretty nice – it doesn’t seem to smudge very much.

Oddly enough, my favorite liquid eyeliner is the $1 ELF black liquid liner. 🙂
Not odd at all! I think that most high-end items are overpriced.
I am really liking the color of the Glimmerstick Smokey Diamond.
I use L’Oreal Voluminous Smoldering liner almost daily to create dark base, so I’m using it as cream shadow, not as liner.
I know you love a smokey eye and it would be fab on you!
you’re so adventurous! my go-to for years has been plain old black chanel eyeliner. but now you’re making me want to venture into some pretty colors too!

I like the gold on my lower lash more than I thought I would.
I barely can apply eyeliners…so i use a pencil..by Mac.
Lately I have realized that eyebrows need to be “filled” to look good. So maybe I will start doing that :-p

Love the Ulta Moss and UD Lit and the plummy one, too. Can never have enough colored eyeliner! I use UD Zero to tightline my eyes and I love it, it’s not the blackest black so I feel I can do it. I’ve got a million eyeliner but never enough!
