Remember my Pumpkin Pie Protein Shake? It won me a 3-month subscription to Bulu Box! (affiliate link). I haven’t yet succumbed to the temptation of subscription boxes, but Bulu Box might be The One.
From the website:
Bulu Box is the best way to discover health, nutrition and weight loss products. Each monthly sample box is filled with 4 to 5 premium products selected to help you feel your best. Look forward to a new mix monthly for both women and men that include: vitamins, weight loss, energy, protein, digestion, sleep support, fitness DVDs, healthy food utensils and more.
You can choose between a Bulu Box or a Bulu Box Weight Loss. When you register at the Bulu Box site, you can fill out a questionnaire that helps tailor the box to your preferences. It’s $10/month or $110/year.
I went with the regular Bulu Box.
This month’s box was curated by Ali Vincent, a winner from The Biggest Loser. I’ve never seen The Biggest Loser, but I have seen her TV show on the The Live Well Network and I absolutely love her.
On to the contents!
Salba Chia Boost: I read about chia seeds all over the blogosphere, but I’ve never tried them. I’m glad to get a sample. Any suggestions what I should do with them?
Gorge Delights Just Fruit Bar: I already love this and I haven’t even tried it yet. I’ve always got some sort of healthy(ish) snack bar in my purse or backpack.
Flow Practice Perfect: I have no idea what this is and there are no ingredients on the label. I do not eschew pre-workout supplements, but I need to know what I’m taking first. Anything “herbal” makes me suspicious.
Soy Joy: Another snack bar. I’ve tried these at race expos and they’re pretty good. Score!
Power Crunch ProtoWhey Protein: I do love my protein shakes, and having a sachet like this pretty convenient.
Prep Dish 1-week Meal Plan: I think I’m most excited about this.
From the website:
We plan the meals — you savor them. We’re with you every step of the way with gluten-free, stress-free weekly menus that truly hit the spot.
Here’s how it works: We thoughtfully craft a week’s worth of gluten-free, healthy meals that feature seasonal ingredients to make the most of your budget, save you time and surprise your taste buds. Along with a weekly menu, you’ll get a printable grocery list and instructions for prep day — just one day of preparation yields scrumptious, good-for-you dishes all week long.
I don’t need gluten-free meals, but I would love to prepare and pack all my meals on Sunday and not have to worry about what to eat the rest of the week. I’ll report back once I’ve tried it.
Also in the box was this Sample Journal. What a brilliant idea! I can keep track of what samples I like and then order them from the website. I will get points for each review I write on the Bulu Box website that I can apply towards purchase.
What do you think of this subscription box? Would you sign up for this?

The box looks incredibly motivating! LOVE chia seeds and I want to try that all fruit bar. A lot of my friends (and former patients) are gluten free so I kind of got in the know about how to cook that way. You know what I want?! I want more than a subscription box when the baby’s born. I want my mom. She’s the best package and she does everything!!! 🙂 Awesome box review!
will your mom be staying with you after the baby arrives?
i wish there were a gadget monthly box. that would be my jam!
You should start one. You’ll make a fortune.
I received my (first) Bulu box and the items I got are slightly different .. I should do a post on it .. just finished my certificate in nutrition .. so now will have some time to devote to my blog (hopefully 🙂
Monica.
Congratulations!
I’d love to read another review of your Bulu Box.
I was actually a Bulu Box ambassador but withdrew myself when I just wasn’t thrilled with the boxes. Then of course, you go and show me an awesome one. All of these types of things are always a hit or miss. But it’s always fun to get a surprise in the mail! 🙂
YES I love surprises in the mail!
