Oh how I missed hiking. I haven’t been in ages because it’s been so hot. We dropped to the low 80s this week so off I went with my sister and 유씨. It was my sister’s first hike, and our first hike in months, so we went at a nice, leisurely pace.
Can you see the deer? There was a family of three. I didn’t want to get too close and scare them off.
We only gained ~2000ft in elevation, but we could still see the ocean.
I wore the trail runners I bought at the Columbia outlet for the first time. I think I’ll wear these on access trails and leave the hiking boots for the forest. We did some running on the flat portions of the trail, and on the way down. These Montrail shoes are ridiculously comfortable. They’re like regular running shoes, but with more traction and cushioning. It felt kind of weird walking on them on gravel and cement, as if I was on rollers, but it was perfect for the trail.
How’s your weekend going?
I think hiking sounds so lovely. I’ve never done it, but perhaps have to give it a go at some point.
lol.
love the sign. 🙂
have a great week, Wendy!
Beautiful! What trail is this?
Sounds perfect! This heat needs to take a vacation.
Great sign! I’ll never understand why people smoke.
Monica.

I’ll tweet to you about it.
Lol Wendy at that smokers sign. I was just talking to hubby about hiking. We live in AZ and people really love it. We have trails so he said its probably a lot safer than I would think. And a lot of people are usually on them. I’m sure it’s an excellent workout. Good for you!
Sounds great! hiking is so fun!
Wow… you are so lucky to go on hiking. Love the photographs 🙂 And yeah family of deer can be seen.
Wild flowers are so cute 🙂 Wish I could go there
