Keeping fit is one of those things that can be difficult to motivate ourselves to do. That’s why we all need a bit of extra motivation and support to get us through it. So, you have to follow the ideas and suggestions on this post to make sure you keep up with your fitness regime.
Don’t Go it Alone
The worst thing you can do if you’re struggling with keeping fit is to try to do it alone. It’s so much easier and more helpful to do it with someone. Maybe you could get your partner, or a friend to do it with you. That way you can motivate and inspire each other. And you’ll be less likely to give it a miss if you don’t fancy a workout. Have a buddy with you at all times so you’re more likely to get out there and focus on getting fitter!
Personal Trainer
Let’s be honest, no matter how much we want something we sometimes need someone to give us that push. And that’s why it’s a great idea to hire and use a personal trainer. This is someone who can take charge of your fitness, and get you on some kind of regimented plan of action. The best way to maintain motivation is to have someone you’re accountable to. And this is the role your personal trainer will play. They are very much the ‘bad cop’ in this scenario. It’s their presence that is going to get you out of bed in the mornings, and inspire you to go that extra mile when you don’t think you can.
Share Your Journey
One of the best things you can do is share your journey and experiences with others. You’ll be surprised by how therapeutic and inspiring this can be. There are so many people out there in the same position that you’re in. So, comparing notes and sharing how you feel is a great way of keeping motivated. You should visit a fitness forum and join in discussions. You’ll be able to get a feel for how other people are doing, and what topics people are discussing. Then you can figure out how you can get involved. Taking motivation and inspiration from other members is a surprisingly effective way of keeping fit.
Record Your Progress
A lot of people find it useful to keep a record of their progress, and this is something you need to make sure you do. There are so many difficulties when you’re trying to keep fit and lose weight. And, by recording progress, you can see how well you’re doing. This shows you whether you are progressing nicely, which will inspire you to continue. Or, it indicates that you’re not doing so well which will hopefully give you a kick up the backside! Either way, recording your progress is a great way of ensuring that you keep your eye on the prize.
Keeping fit is one of those things that’s a little bit like driving. We’d love to be able to enjoy the end product, but we’d rather avoid the hard work to get there. And that’s really what you’re battling against. The biggest obstacle you’ll face in motivating yourself to keep fit is the person in the mirror. So, quit procrastinating, and start ensuring that you take this seriously!
