Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup was the first drugstore foundation I had that actually matched my skin. It looked completely natural – I’d never used a foundation so nice. I wore this foundation exclusively for years until I started sampling mineral makeup. In fact, Neutrogena mineral makeup was a favorite too, although a bit too dark, so I started searching for something that would suit me.
Today I pulled it out of my drawer and OMG did it always look this bad on me? Granted, I am flakey from Retin-A usage, but with this on my face, my pores were accentuated, the flakies on my face were magnified, and I looked just awful.
Has my perception changed, because I’m used to mineral makeup? Or maybe my skin has changed in the couple of years since I wore this last? I don’t know. I washed it off and used my trusty Aromaleigh Dewdrop foundation instead – perfect for my peeling Retin-A face.
thanks for this review. 🙂
i was very curious about this one. there’re quite a few positive reviews on this foundation. but my skin is quite dry and flaky nowadays, it wouldn’t work out for me.
I think a more hydrating foundation is a must for flaky skin. That and a good primer!
