Today, like many other fans, I’m mourning Prince’s death. I was a big fan – I’d seen him in concert five times. And if I’m totally honest, that purple is my favorite color is from Prince’s influence on my young life.
Here he is at the Forum in 2011. I went to three of those shows while he was there for the week. Each performance was different and amazing. This was before the Forum got popular again; Prince was there to save what he deemed an important musical venue.
So to honor his memory, today I’m wearing 3121, named after his 2006 album (favorite track is Beautiful, Loved, and Blessed. Black Sweat is a good workout song, too).
3121 smells how you’d expect a Prince fragrance to smell… Like sex. I would not wear this to work. In fact, I’ve hardly worn it at all in the years I’ve owned it; it seems inappropriate for most occasions. It’s listed as a white floral, but I really sniff out the animalic and woodsy scents.
Basically, 3121 is as brash and sexy as Prince himself was.
