We’ve all been there. A night on the town beckons but we still need to meet our daily workout goals. We workout to look and feel great, but we may not feel at our best when we’re still red-faced and sweating! If there is limited time between hitting the gym and hitting the bar, try these quick tips to look fresh and flawless in ten minutes or less.
Dry shampoo can be your best friend. It may not be possible to have a thorough shower complete with shampoo and conditioner, but that’s no reason for your hair to look lacklustre. Flip your hair upside down and spritz in a dry shampoo at the roots. Work it through with your fingers to absorb any excess oil on the scalp. It also adds a bit of volume. Models use this technique all the time when they have to dash from show to show, or from a workout to a photoshoot. Whether for length or thickness, if you like to wear clip in human hair extensions, you have a few options. You can choose to have them ready-styled and in a bag to clip in afterwards. Or, you can wear them while you work out, pulled back in a bun or ponytail so that they don’t tangle. Either way, with tumbling tresses you’ll look like you spent an hour getting ready rather than an hour on the treadmill.
Wear lighter makeup to the gym then you can easily add to it later. Starting with heavier makeup is going to end in tears (and smears) if you then begin a tough workout. Keep your skin fresh, slick on some waterproof mascara, and you’re good to go. Add some blotting sheets for afterwards and a cream blush to highlight that post-workout glow.
You now look beautiful on the outside but what about the inside? Make sure that you fully rehydrate after the gym—especially if you’re planning to drink alcohol. Keeping hydrated is not only great for your skin and energy levels but helps your body recover faster after exercise. Don’t skip this step. Are you no stranger to feeling “hangry” (that angry feeling that comes with hunger)? Slipping an energy bar or protein shake into your gym bag can also be a lifesaver when you’re in the taxi.
