Juicing is big business these days. It is not hard to see why either. Unlike smoothies, it extracts all of the nutrients from the fruit or vegetable and makes it much more digestible. It makes it easy to get all of the fruit and vegetables you need in one day, in one drink. As it is so much easier to drink, rather than eat that amount of fruit or vegetables. They are great for giving your body a bit of a detox, and great for when you are feeling ill.
Choosing a juicer can vary massively, though. There are a lot of different functions to look for. If you want to start juicing, then you need a juicer that will fit easily into your life. Look for a juicer that will mean you don’t have to peel or evenly chop your fruit and veg. Then you can just throw it all in and have a juice in no time. That will be easy to fit into your lifestyle too. How many of us have time to chop veggies and prepare them first thing in the morning? We want something that is easy and will make living a healthy lifestyle easier. It is also good to look for a juicer that doesn’t give off a lot of foam. It can put you off drinking the juice as it is just not very nice. So a juicer like the Omega 8006 might be somewhere to look.
If you are looking to start juicing, you probably don’t want to just throw in any old fruit and vegetables. Some flavors go great together; some do not. So here are some refreshing juicing recipes that you could try out.
The Orange One
For one serving, you will need:
- 3 carrots and 2 apples
All you need to do is chop off the ends of each carrot and peel them. Then place them in the juicer and press through. The next step is to press the apples through. They don’t need to be peeled or cored, as the waste is collected elsewhere in the juicer. Chill before serving or add some ice for the best taste.
The Green One
For two servings, you will need:
- One mango, roughly chopped
- One small pineapple, roughly chopped
- Two kiwis, peeled
- Two handfuls of spinach
- One orange
Once all of the ingredients are prepared, place them through the juicer, as many as will fit. Once all the ingredients have been pressed through, serve immediately. This is a great juice for first thing in the morning as it will give you lots of energy.
The Refreshing Juice
For one serving, you will need:
- One cucumber
- Handful of mint leaves
- Two apples
Press through all of the ingredients in the juicer. It can be difficult to get much from the mint leaves, so make sure that you press them through with the cucumber or apples. Then you will get the most out of them. This juice is perfect for warm days when you need a really refreshing drink to quench your thirst.
