It’s that time of year again…
In less than three weeks, Christmas will be here, and I couldn’t be more excited. While I love picking out the perfect gifts for my loved ones and spending hours wrapping them all up. I find that Christmas shopping can be incredibly stressful.
The problem is that come December, the high street becomes crazy busy, and shopping turns into a nightmare. It’s lovely being able to wander around with a Christmas coffee and browse the shops. But when you end up queuing for hours and constantly bump into people, it’s just no fun. However, Christmas shopping doesn’t have to be stressful, not if you take note of these tips, that is.
Write a list
Start by creating a list of all the presents that you need to get, that way you won’t forget anything. Once you have a list of items that you need to buy, you’ll find shopping much easier. Pop the list on your phone, so that wherever you go, you have it on hand.
There’s nothing worse than going from shop to shop, looking for gift ideas and getting more and more stressed out. That’s why, writing a list beforehand is essential so that you know what you need to get. (Trust me, this makes present buying a whole lot easier.)
Shop online
The best tip for making Christmas shopping less stressful is do your shopping online. Instead of traipsing from store to store, to find the best price, you can browse online and then select the best option. No stress, no panic, you can shop at your own pace.
The best thing about shopping online, apart from the lower prices, is the fact that there are so many places to buy from. As well as websites for high street brands, there are also various other gift sites to use.
For instance, http://www.giftsfromhandpicked.co.uk/, sells lots of lovely gifts. The items on this site, and others like it, tend to be more unique than what’s on the high street. I don’t know about you, but I love having more choice of what to buy when it comes to my Christmas shopping.
Buy via click and collect
I should mention that one of my major Christmas fears is ordering presents online and them not turning up on time. This really is my worst nightmare. I would hate to disappoint a loved one by not being able to give them their gift on time.
That’s why I think that click and collect is such a great option, as you can order the gift online and then pick it up from a collection point later on. You don’t need to stress about waiting for it to be delivered to you, all you have to do is select a pick up date.
Give yourself a boost with coffee and cake
This one might seem a little odd, but hear me out. Present buying can be stressful whether you’re shopping on the high street or online. Sometimes, the best thing you can do to calm yourself down is stop for a nice cup of coffee and a piece of cake.
Having some time to sit down and relax can make the whole present buying process much simpler and less stressful. When we’re stressed, we can’t think properly, which makes present buying, even more difficult. That’s why breaking up your shopping with coffee and cake is a must.
So there you have it, my guide to making Christmas shopping less stressful.
