My regular readers know that I’m addicted to fitness. After all, I’m a Beachbody coach. So, getting into shape is something I’m constantly working on for me and my friends. Today, I have some tips to help make a big change to your lifestyle. We’ll carve off the inches from your waist, improve your diet, and get you in the best shape of your life! I’ve thrown in a mixture of diet, core exercises, cardio, and anaerobic fitness. With a combination of these power foursome, you’ll be looking and feeling your best in no time at all. Just make sure you put the work in!

  1. Start with a balanced diet

Here’s the big secret that no-one wants to here. Your exercise routine is almost useless without a healthy diet to supplement it. Trust me, if you want to see results in your energy levels, fitness, and shape, it starts with the right food. That doesn’t mean turning to the latest crazy diets or eating like a rabbit. It means maintaining a healthy, balanced intake. Plenty of fruit and veg, plenty of fiber, and lots of protein are your goals here. Try to remove sugars, and excess starches and carbs.

  1. Pilates

We’re going to start with a gentle pilates workout. (Though, anyone who’s tried it knows it gets pretty intense after a while!) Pilates is all about stretching our muscles, building flexibility and balance. It helps ease into the fitness regime by preparing our bodies for more vigorous exercise. Best of all, pilates is one of the most effective workouts you can do for your core. Every movement is about controlling and holding your bodyweight. Over time, it will shave inches off your tums and bums.

  1. Jogging or cardio

Now that we’re all limbered up and feeling strong in our core, it’s time to build your fitness. Stamina and fitness comes from long periods of aerobic exercise. My personal cardio of choice is running. I love to hit the open road, and rack up the miles. I know some of you out there find it difficult to motivate yourself, so find something that works for you. Cycling and swimming are two other fantastic options. They burn the calories, and they build long-term fitness.

  1. Kickboxing

Next up, you want to work on your anaerobic fitness. That involves short, sharp bursts of energy. It’s more about power and speed than long cardio workouts. It’s the other side of your stamina and fitness regime. Again, there are all sorts of things you can do to work on this. Rock climbing is a great options. So are sprints and interval training. A friend of mine started taking women’s kickboxing lessons! It’s fast, exciting, and great for those bursts of energy I was talking about.

  1. Small weights

The last part of your exercise is about building a little strength, and toning those muscles into shape. Using some small dumbbells is a great way to get started. You can also do some bodyweight training. Anything that will give you a little resistance is perfect.

That’s all for today, folks! Stop by again soon for more health and fitness advice!

I'd love to hear from you
