Happy Monday!
I haven’t done a Manicure Monday in ages because I don’t paint my nails all that often. I can get maybe a day out of a mani before it chips, no matter if I do it in a salon or on my own. As I blogged about before, I did get a good 2-3 days off a mani by using Orly Bonder between each coat of polish, but that’s still only 3 days.
So when I was last at home in the US and at Target, I bought the aptly-named Sally Hanson Miracle Gel Top Coat. I didn’t really expect it to work out too well, but this stuff is…a miracle!
Sunday, before clean-up (Clean-up for me is a shower; I haven’t got mani skillz like that)
Monday, after “clean-up”. There’s a little bit of wear around the cuticles, probably because I was a bit aggressive in the shower trying to get the nail polish off my skin.
Tuesday, in the sun so you can see the sparkles in this polish. It’s Eclipse from the Avon Cosmic line of nail polishes.
Wednesday, starting to see a bit of tip wear. Totally user error since I didn’t wrap my tips.
Thursday and nary a chip to be found.
Friday. Yes, camera phone photos aren’t terribly clear, but believe me when I tell you that this mani is still very shiny. Very, very shiny.
Saturday and I don’t mind being #basic…but still no chips! Just tip wear.
Sunday, a full week after application. and I finally see a chip. This is usually what my nails look like after a day or two without using the SH Miracle Gel top coat. This stuff is incredible!
This has never happened to me before – a manicure that lasts an entire week. An entire week! I’m removing my nail polish today because I’m sick of it, not because it looks unkempt. I feel like I’ve stumbled across something life-changing. Yes, I’m overly dramatic but dayum! A week-long manicure!
How do you keep your nails looking nice?
