I bought a new suit, from Eddie Bauer of all places. Who knew an outdoorsy store sold nice work clothes?
The jacket is really nice – fitted in the shoulders, nipped in at the waist so it gives me a nice shape – but I generally don’t have a problem finding blazers that fit; it’s always the pants that are a continual challenge. But these, these pants are a fantastic fit for my body shape. From the website:
And they were petite so I didn’t have to get them hemmed! I could wear them right out of the box. The fabric was substantial with a little stretch; very comfortable. I bought this suiting off the internet and the sizing was spot-on, so they are true to size. I got the jacket a size smaller than the pants.
I’m a little alarmed that the pants were on clearance – I sure hope the Blakely pants cut is not being discontinued!
So now I have a grey suit that fits properly for my capsule wardrobe. I can also wear the pants separately. Wearing this suit to work on Monday made me feel confident and put-together. I am going to keep an eye on the clearance page of Eddie Bauer; hopefully the brown suiting pieces will show up there eventually too.
I know Eddie Bauer is quality stuff – I have an Eddie Bauer parka-type coat that I’ve been wearing since college and the only damage to it is a popped off button after 15 years of use.
I only wish this outfit had been made in the US. Then the suit really would have been perfect.
I have seen you in this suit and I feel that is the best fitting suit that you own. I especially like the way the top fits you perfectly, without the poofy shoulder pads. What’s up with poofy shoulder pads anyway?
It’s an 80s throwback. Isn’t Linda Evans from T-town? I bet she rocks the poofy shoulder pads
Linda Evans lived in Yelm Washington, which is very close to Tacoma. She’s a nut
