Let’s talk about the elephant in the room, shall we?
When I was funemployed this summer, I was working out 2-3 hours a day. I did Couch to 5k, then I started on a 5k to 10k program. But then I got a project, and then another, and now another, and for some reason I was doing Insanity in between those jobs instead of training for this 10k.
Today I realized that I have only got SIX WEEKS to train. Six weeks! I am not a runner. And the Couch to 5k, I did in the gym on a nice cushy treadmill that propelled me forward with momentum in my air conditioned women’s gym where staff walks around cleaning everything all the time, not on gravelly grimy pavement of Hollywood Blvd.
The time limit for the 10k is 90 minutes, which I know I could totally do walking at a fast clip, so I’m sure I can manage a walk/jog. But I’d really like to run as much as I can.
I guess I’d better get started!
