Skincare Review – Michael Todd True Organics

I haven’t seen many reviews on Michael Todd True Organics skincare, so I hope this post helps anyone who might be thinking about making a purchase.

I’d only read glowing reviews about this line of products on Meg’s Makeup, so when I saw an anti-acne regimen on Groupon, I had to try it out. A few days later I saw another Michael Todd cream on Groupon so I bought that too.

Here are the products I have been using:

  • Charcoal Detox Cleanser This isn’t bad. It doesn’t strip or dry my skin and removes all my makeup.
  • Organic Lemon AHA + DMAE toner I like this toner. It has a nice scent and makes my skin tingle, which I think means it’s working. I don’t typically use toner so I sometimes forget this step.
  • Moisture Lite Lotion This lotion is not moisturizing enough to use at night during the winter, and because it doesn’t have SPF, I dare not use it in the morning after the AHA toner. I will probably try it again in the summer as a night lotion. It has a nice scent, similar to the toner. The packaging is awful though – I can’t control how much I dispense since it’s a pump, and the bottle is opaque so I don’t know how much is left.
  • Intensive Organic Cream Eye Treatment (seems to have been discontinued) It’s a basic eye cream with a nice texture. It absorbs rather quickly which I really like.
  • Kaolin Clay extreme detoxifying facial mask This mask is pretty powerful. It stings upon application and leaves my skin ruddy when I wash it off, but in the morning my face feels smoother. I absolutely detest the packaging though. It’s terribly frustrating to get product out of the pump. I thought it would be easier after the first use, but no, I still have to whack on the pump 8-10 times before anything is dispensed. It’s the same pump as the Moisture Light Lotion.
  • KNU Anti-Aging Face Lift (purchased from Groupon separately) I might actually hate this cream. It leaves my skin tight and dry. I’ve tried adding a drop of Lucy Minerals Sweet Dreams Ambrosia to it for some moisture, but it doesn’t make a difference.
But! This review has encouraged me to keep trying it. I will update after two weeks.
Edit: My updated review is HERE.

My overall opinion of Michael Todd True Organics is that it’s just okay. The anti-acne regimen was $44 ($218 value), and the face lift cream was $25 ($150 list price). For the Groupon rates, I’m glad I gave this line a try, but I’m not really impressed. The products aren’t terrible by any means, but the list prices are outrageous. The pump packaging on the mask and lotion is a huge negative, even though the product inside is perfectly adequate.

Have you tried Michael Todd True Organics?
