3 Tips for Mixing Up Your Style for Confidence

At the core of feeling good about ourselves is internal confidence. Confidence can be projected as an external mask, but this will eventually wear you down unless you genuinely feel good about yourself. It is only natural for confidence levels to fluctuate and even the most energetic and confident people in the world have the occasional off day.

As humans, we get used to the same routines and as they say, “variety is the spice of life”. Mixing it up a little is a great way to give yourself a little boost and try things that you normally would not. The great thing about mixing it up a little is that you are almost guaranteed to find something that you love and look great with.

Some of the easiest things you can do include:

  • Change your hairstyle
  • Try new makeup techniques
  • Invert your wardrobe

One of the first things people notice is your hair so finding a style that looks good can be a great confidence booster while your makeup regimen might be getting a little old and wearing the same clothes over and over can become boring.

Fantastic Follicles

When we find a hairstyle that we like and believe suits us well, we tend to keep it for a long time. But like anything that we keep around, we can get bored of it and others will too; it’s just human nature. If you want to impress or try out another look for yourself then one of the best things you can do is change your hair.

Your hairstyle is one of the first things people notice about you along with your eyes and clothing. You can go for the opposite look, so if you have straight hair you might be wondering How to create curls and waves without damage? Rotating irons can help with this since they are inexpensive and easy to use.

Trying curls can be scary if you have straight hair since it is a drastic departure from your normal style, but you are guaranteed to look great. Conversely, straightening your curly hair can almost make you look like a different person.

Glam It Up

Most of us wear makeup, some more than others and it isn’t uncommon for men to do so these days either. While makeup can be a great way of hiding things we don’t feel good about, it can become such a fixed part of our lives that we use the same techniques every day like second nature.

There are many, many variations of makeup application, and trying even the smallest of changes can make a big difference in your style. One of the most common things to try when going for a new look is contouring. This amazing technique makes use of light and shadow to give more shape to your facial structure just by applying tones and highlights in specific areas. Contouring can make you look slimmer and refined but care should be taken as it can look bad if not applied properly.

There are many excellent contouring videos on YouTube that you can follow and contouring makeup comes at a generally inexpensive price for a Hollywood look.

Out With the Old

Perhaps the biggest part of your style is your clothing. You don’t need to be a dedicated follower of fashion to take advantage of good clothes but keeping your ear to the ground can help when going for seasonal style. Many daytime TV shows will regularly air pieces about seasonal fashion at low prices.

But if you don’t care about seasonal fashion yet want to try something new, then altering your wardrobe can be a great way of finding something new that looks great on you. But deciding on what to buy can be difficult and one of these easiest methods of changing your wardrobe is to simply invert it.

Essentially, if you often wear blue then switch your blues for reds, greens for yellows, and blacks for whites. This can’t be done for everything, but most outfits will benefit from inversion and it can look great in summer if you switch from dark to lighter clothing.
