Beachbody Barre Blend

We’ve been in lockdown going on 10 months now, and I do a lot of sitting and not enough moving.

So I started Beachbody Barre Blend last week. (That’s my referral link to Beachbody on Demand, a streaming service with all Beachbody programs available).  It’s an 8-week program with 5 workouts a week. Unlike other Beachbody programs I’ve done, no workout is repeated. So there’s a total of 40 different workouts scheduled like this:

  • Mondays – Full Body
  • Tuesdays – Booty
  • Wednesdays – Cardio
  • Thursday – Core
  • Friday – Lean Legs

The idea is that each week is a progression and the workouts get tougher as we go through the program.

I like the instructor, Elise Joan. She’s very positive and encouraging. I have her old Ballet Conditioning DVD, and I enjoyed that quite a bit.

Barre Blend is very dance-y! If you like dance, you’d love this workout.

Beachbody Barre Blend

A lot of the movements remind me of old school 80s aerobics workouts. Elise Joan has even mentioned Jane Fonda a couple of times!

 

I love my old Jane Fonda Abs Buns & Thighs workout, so Barre Blend is right up my alley.

Barre Blend is fun, but it’s tough. There’s a modifier in the workout; I pretty much stick with her! I’m not terribly graceful and l lack fluidity with these workouts, but I really look forward to it every day. It’s a lot of legs and core work, but light weights are used too. 3-lb weights and I’m sore, so I know I’m getting a great workout.
