Geez, my cuticles look ROUGH. The photos from Manicure Monday are a good reminder to moisturize! I carry a cuticle balm in my makeup bag – I’ve just got to remember to use it.
This is three coats of Color Club Disco Dress, part of last month’s Skyline Beauty haul. It’s a vibrant electric purple, unless you only use a camera phone like I do, in which case it’s kind of a blue-ish purple.
I wasn’t too terribly impressed when I put it on – the first two coats were streaky, and it wasn’t very shiny without a top coat. BUT it didn’t chip for three full days so I was ultimately pleased with the result. I used Orly Bonder as a base coat and Orly Won’t Chip as a top coat.
I could also use a really nice hand lotion. Any recommendations?
I need a cuticle balm. I just looked down at mines and -oh boy! I don’t have a particular hand lotion. Usually just used my regular body lotion or oil. Pretty color!
My hands are so dry that I need a cuticle balm too!
I am loving that color!!! I need a cuticle balm, what kind do you use?
Right now I have one from Avon but when it’s used up, I’ll go back to the one from Burt’s Bees.
Rad color! You know more that hand lotion, I like nail oil. When I used to have my nails done all the time, I was obsessed with keeping the cuticles moisturized. I had nail oil pens (non leaky) in my car and everything.
Hmm, I saw some nail oil pens at Sephora. Thanks for the suggestion!
The color club line really has the brightest colors don’t they? I personally love the Aveda hand cream. I seem to always get a free coupon for the travel size in the mail all the time
Ooh, I like free! I’ll stop by the Aveda store – thanks for the suggestion!
I really like Vaseline Intensive Care Healthy Hand & Nail Conditioning Hand Lotion, but it’s hard to find at drugstores and don’t buy the CVS brand – it’s not the same (too thin).
Love the vibrant purple nail polish .. great color!
Monica.
Hmm, I do have a CVS knock-off that’s not doing the job. I’ll go for the brand next time and skip the generic.
Aquafor is the best! I also put it on my feet at night then put on socks and by morning they are a lot softer.
Oh boy, my feet are another blog post entirely! All that running and hiking does me no favors.
It’s a pretty color. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it.
Thanks for stopping by
You call that rough cuticles? Yikes, then mine are disastrous! My favorite two moisturizers are Palmer’s Cocoa Butter (smells like chocolate- soo good), and then plain old virgin coconut oil – yes, a bit greasy, but great for the whole body/hair/everything.

I should try coconut oil for my hair.
I love Skyline Beauty! That reminds me I need to go visit. I want to get some OPI Sheer Tints. I tend to moisturize my hand several times a day. While moisturizing my hands, I massage my cuticle. That really helps a lot or at least for me.

I’ve seen Skyline Beauty on Groupon a couple of more times, so keep an eye out for it
I love this color – it’s electrifying! And I feel that it coordinates well with many other colors – great choice!
I love it too!
