Peloton has added a new type of workout to its catalogue – Bike Bootcamp!
There is already a treadmill bootcamp (which I’ve read, some people use the bike instead of the treadmill), so this seems like a great addition.
Bootcamp is a few minutes warming up, a short ride on the bike, some weights or body weight exercises on the floor, and then another ride on the bike. Here’s the class plan for Cody Rigsby’s beginner bootcamp:
This class was a lot of fun! I felt like I could go pretty hard on the bike part, because it was short and I could recover while getting off the bike and on the floor for weights. The weights section was a couple of circuits of legs and back, finishing off with a squat burnout. Then, back on the bike!
I really enjoyed this class! It was something new and different. I’m surprised how good of a workout it was, since I didn’t spend too much time on any particular exercise. I did another beginner Bike Bootcamp this morning, and I think it’s a great workout when I’m short on time or just want to do something first thing in the morning. There are intermediate and advanced boot camps, and a few that are 45- or 60- minutes. I’m excited to try those too!
Now to learn why it’s called a bootcamp…do you know how this type of workout got its name?
