Aging is an inevitable and it sure beats the alternative! But we don’t have to necessarily look our age if we don’t want. There are ways to make yourself look younger, that don’t require you hiring a plastic surgeon. Follow these simple and effective ways to start your journey to looking younger today.
- Start a skincare regime
No matter what your age is, it’s always beneficial to have a good, daily skin care regime. Healthy skin looks more youthful and bright. Always thoroughly remove your makeup each night with the use of a face wash and cleanser. This will prevent spots and clogged pores. You should do this twice a day to get the best results. Dry skin can make your skin look older so invest in a non-greasy moisturiser. Clarins have a wonderful anti aging serum you shouldn’t miss that can help make your skin look firmer. Keeping hydrated with water or a humidifier are additional ways of keeping your skin looking hydrated and healthy.
- Be more active
Exercising is an essential part of looking and feeling younger. Get your body in shape by getting a personal trainer or starting doing more physical activities like walking or swimming. This will keep your body looking trim, strengthen your muscles and improve your balance. Try out a new hobby that gets you outside and introduces you to new people. Exercise can also release endorphins that will lift your mood, making you feel happier. Frowning can instantly add years and add wrinkles, whereas smiling makes you look fresh and youthful. Give it a try in the mirror to see what I mean.
- Plenty of Me time
The stress of everyday life can cause havoc to your body and age it more than it needs to. Dedicate some time for yourself to relax and recharge. Take a soak in the bath or get a massage at a spa with your girlfriends. Just take some time to look after yourself and your body will thank you for it. Even getting plenty of sleep allows your body to rejuvenate itself and reduces the appearance of dark circles under your eyes. Whatever you choose to do, make sure it’s stress free and enjoyable.
- Dye your hair
Dyeing your hair is a great way of hiding those pesky grey hairs. But, some hair colourants a can be too harsh and make you look older than you are. Go to a salon and ask for a consultation with a stylist. They can show you an array of colours that will be suitable for your skin tone. Investing in some great volumizing hair products can also make your hair appear thicker and fuller. Keeping your hair in great condition will not only make it look more youthful but you’ll also be brimming with confidence.
So there you have it. Looking younger is all about caring for you body both inside and out. Always make sure you eat a varied diet and do plenty of exercises. But also take the time to unwind. You’ll look years younger in the blink of an eye.
What are you tips to staying young?
Every time I hear a twenty something giggle and say that they don’t wash their make up off at night….I cringe!!! Skin care is so important and something that must be started early on to really have the full benefit! I used to just get highlights for depth and fun in my hair…..but this past year…I have found a few greys that need covering. Worst discovery ever!
Oh no!! I’ve had greys since I was in my mid-20s so coloring isn’t anything new to me. I’d love for it to ALL go grey and then I could just leave it!
