Feeling More Confident During Quarantine

Being stuck in quarantine has been hard for a lot of us. Many of us haven’t worn makeup for months; and hair washing schedules have all but gone out to the window at this point.

After so many weeks of not dressing up or being able to visit the salon, it is understandable that a lot of us feel less confident than we did before. But today we want to show you how you can feel confident and beautiful at home this week, and build up that self esteem once more.

Without the need for hours at the salon, belly button piercing [click here], or expensive facials: here are some things you can do at home to feel preened and pretty this week.

Pamper yourself

Now that you are at home, it is the perfect opportunity to work on your skin and enhance your natural beauty. It is important to remember that we are all beautiful and none of us need makeup, and our skin can look just as glowing and dewy without the coverage. Here is a skin routine you can try during quarantine once a week to get stunning skin:

  1. Apply a face mask
  2. In the shower: exfoliate and cleanse
  3. Apply a nose cleansing strip
  4. Cleanse with cream
  5. Tone
  6. Serum
  7. Moisturise
  8. Lip balm

By doing this routine just once a week, your skin will become clearer and you’ll have a much smoother complexion.

Try a new style

Now is the ideal time to rummage through your wardrobe and try on your clothes. Instead of buying new clothes, go through your old things and try out different outfits. Use Pinterest as a guide: for example if you have a red skirt you can search ‘red skirt outfits’ and create an outfit with clothes you have in the closet. This is a great way to discover new styles and also improve your fashion skills during lockdown.

Play around with new makeup

If you have a ton of eyeshadow palettes that haven’t seen any love for a while, now is the time to play around. Just because you have nowhere to go doesn’t mean you can’t play around with makeup looks! Watch some YouTube videos and take the chance to use those bright colours you’ve always been scared of. You might end up finding some beautiful combinations to flaunt once this is all over.

Learn hair hacks

As well as looking after your skin during lockdown, you might want to make a start on your hair. A lot of us head to the salon every 6-8 weeks for a haircut and colour, but during lockdown we’ve been forced to steer clear and it means our roots are growing out and our hair needs some serious TLC. Try online hacks to make your hair healthier, take a look at heatless styles, and even try dying your own roots if you are brave enough! Colour depositing shampoo can also be a good way to make natural hair more vibrant or try something entirely new.

I'd love to hear from you
