The Workout Snacks You Need

Doing your workout day in and day out has got you into a good routine. Hopefully. Sure, there may be days when you give up earlier than usual, and leg day might always be a lost cause, but at least you’re trying! But when it comes to improving on your current standard, a big boost in energy would be great, wouldn’t it?

That’s where snacks come in! A wealth of energy all wrapped up in a plastic bundle if you’re a bar gal, or a pot of yogurt and some gorgeous fruit if you have the time. Even the diet you’re on is going to allow a snack here and there, and you should never skimp on the nourishment you can get out of these moments! So without further ado, make sure you’re trying some of these snacks to go along with your morning crossfit or your evening dumbbell session.

Something Full of Protein!

This would be best served and eaten right after your workout, to make sure the muscles you’ve just worked out to soreness have the best chance to repair stronger. Protein is something that comes in abundance in eggs and fish, but they can get very boring day after day. But thankfully, they’re not the only protein rich edible items out there, so get to researching right now.

A bit of turkey would work well here, if you’re into eating meat. You can also try some hummus spread onto low carb items; tasty and nutritious when you most need it. Or you can try out some of Papa Steve’s No Junk Raw Protein Bars if you need to be on the go immediately after your shower, or if you just like the familiar crunch of something quick and nutritious.

Something with Peanut Butter

It’s a wonder food after all! Full of quick and slow acting energy, and a good way to make sure you’ve got something in reserve to keep you going during your slump-est times. Not to mention, anything with peanut butter on it is going to be a lot more substantial than a quick snack you can just pull out of a grab pack; don’t skimp on how thickly you’re spreading this delicious paste.

Combine it with fruit like banana and you’ve got a real hit of juice to sink your teeth into. You can put this food combo on some simple toast, to make sure you’ve got some good carbs in the mix as well. This works especially good at breakfast, to keep you on the up for the rest of the day ahead. Or you could try out some rice cakes instead of those heavy carbs, which will also give you a good hit of some fiber as well. That’s something no one gets excited about, so make sure you’re eating this tasty fiber filled food to be the difference you want to see in the world.

Having a snack before or after a workout might just be the answer to your problems!

I'd love to hear from you
