I was almost dreading the 10K today, because I tried to run outdoors on Thursday and it.was.bad.
The race began at 6am, but I arrived around 5:15 – like any self-respecting Angeleno, I had to scope out free parking.
Groups were started in waves according to their anticipated finish time – I was in the second to last group but I edged my way forward as the runners were released. I ran without stopping until the turn-aournd (about 3.5 miles), then I walked for a bit, jogged for a bit, walked, jogged…then I tried to finish strong.

I’m happy to say that I finished in 1 hour, 12 minutes. That’s much better than I anticipated!

I can’t believe it! I’m a runner!
Great going! That’s excellent!
Way to go! My cap is off to you – awesome!
Congrats on being a runner! :). Great time!
