Is it Monday again? Where does the weekend go?!
After a very early start this morning, I decided to try Benefit they’re real! mascara that was part of my Sephora birthday gift. Long, lush, lashes are the perfect wake-me-up.
From the Benefit website:
They’re real! lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts & separates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!
What else you need to know:
94% saw dramatic length & volume*
90% saw base-to-tip curl*
94% saw visible lift*
100% saw long-wearing results*
*Results observed in a consumer panel survey
The photo of the brush on the box and the website makes it seem as if there are bristles on the very end of the wand, probably to reach even teeny-tiny lashes to increase volume –
But as you can see, that wasn’t quite the case for my sample –
Unfortuately, this mascara did not light a fire for me. With just one coat, my lashes are clumpy. A second coat and my lashes seem spiky. Not a good look for me. I do not think I will use this sample again, never mind making a purchase. Benefit’s website is pretty confusing about its cruelty-free stance, but because this line is sold in China, I’ll have to assume it isn’t.
Have you tried they’re real!? Or any other Benefit mascara?
I was not a fan of this mascara either, and Benefit isn’t cruelty-free (even ignoring the China issue). 🙁
I think I’m allergic to mascara, my eyes get so itchy after a little, but I still wear it or try to find different kinds. I’ll maybe have to try this brand out.
