Wanderlust Wednesday Link Up

Today I’m linking up with True Colours blog for Wanderlust Wednesday! Today’s theme is Europe.

True Colours

Here are some photos of my semester in Sevilla, Spain, in 1995. Almost 20 years ago! What an exciting adventure. I chose Spain because I studied medieval European history and I didn’t want to have to struggle with language.

Nearly every weekend I travelled to a different part of Spain, sometimes alone, sometimes with other people in my program. I wanted to see all the places I’d read about.

Andalusian townIt’s hot in the Andalucia region but these narrow, whitewashed alleyways are cool and shady.

Plaza Isabel La Católica Granada0001
Granada: Monument commemorating that Queen Isabel accepted and funded Christoper Columbus’ plans. Fascinating that Columbus is vilified in one part of the world yet celebrated in another.
Tha AlhambraThe Alhambra in Granada.
Segovia The Alcázar in Segovia.
Felipe IIMonument in Madrid to Felipe II. Another exceedingly complicated historical figure.
A CorunaCoruña, Galicia, location of an ancient Roman lighthouse.
Have you travelled abroad? What’s your dream destination?
